Artist statement: I am a young adult with autism exploring the world of photography. During the Covid-19 pandemic, I shifted the focus of my work to photography of the natural world. I enjoy photographing flowers, birds and wildlife. Being outdoors and photographing nature makes me feel relaxed and happy. The one silver lining of the pandemic is the amount of time I've been able to spend outdoors. Specific medium: Photography

Artist statement: Michael J. Wackell, Sr. is a long-time resident and business owner in Millbury and was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2012. The shaking, tremors, stiffness and rigidity in his arms and hands and the loss of fine motor skills make many things difficult. Since Michael is right-handed and has lost a considerable amount of dexterity and fine motor skills in that hand, he has learned to use his left hand to compensate for that loss, and with that creates these beautiful works of art. Artist statement: As the Great Egrets begin their migration South, they can be spotted in many marsh lands along the coast searching for food. I love to watch them patiently searching the water below them for the little fish, crabs and other creatures that will fill their belly.
