Artist statement: I am an observational painter, I paint from life. Most often I paint landscapes and could be called a Plein Air painter, but that term has become a bit limiting. I start each painting on location and I try to approach each one with a fresh and open point of view. Most of each painting is finished on the spot, but they are frequently reworked and adjusted in my studio. I try to make my paintings more than just a copy of a place but also create a narrative or story. Specific medium: oil on board

Edge of the Pond
Joyce Indelicato
$220.00
Artist statement: Using soft pastels on sanded paper, I primarily paint impressionistic landscapes. I am most inspired by the play of light and shadow on natural forms – trees, grasses, rocks, and water – that subtly illuminates their hidden connections to each other and of course, ultimately, to ourselves. Landscape paintings can provide a momentary respite from the "noise" of our daily lives and remind us of the deep primal connection we have to the natural world. Specific medium: Pastels on sanded paper
