It conveys the artist's passion, their skill and the way they see the world. All my life, growing up I was moved by paintings and drawings. It's that silent communication that fascinates me. Blooming in Snow
Maryann Amodeo

Artist statement: I rarely feature white in a painting and I was interested in seeing the effect so I did a painting using muted colors and a significant amount of white. The colors worked but the painting seemed static. I decided to paint over it and start again. With a roller and white paint, I began to cover the image but in the midst of this, I realized I liked what emerged so I proceeded to develop it. Specific medium: Acrylic painting
In the Greenhouse
Maryann Amodeo
$300.00
Artist statement: I did not have a clear direction when I began this painting. The image emerged spontaneously on the canvas as I was painting undefined shapes of turquoise, ivory and green. Unexpectedly, the addition of red seemed to confirm that this was a picture of plants in a greenhouse. A few white dots completed the composition. Specific medium: Acrylic

When I started this painting, I was not thinking of that comment but I believe the comment influenced the outcome. Specific medium: Acrylic
