Artist statement: Dressed as a peasant, this young boy’s job was to play the fiddle for the townspeople in a recreated 16th century English village during a Renaissance Faire. I found him so intent on practicing his music that the world seemed to consist of only him and his violin. Only a young master of the arts in music and theatre could play so well.

Here, she uses her leg to point her daughter’s attention to something in the water.
